Who is responsible for your information
TaxOptions is operated by Ylann Ralainarivo, who is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact TaxOptions at hello@taxoptions.co.uk.
Information used by the calculator
The salary, pension and family information you enter is used in your browser to calculate the figures shown on the page. Entering or changing these details does not by itself send them to TaxOptions.
Hosting and security providers may process basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and request details, when you visit the website. This is used to deliver and protect the service.
Website analytics
TaxOptions records limited events such as starting the calculator, completing a step, viewing results, changing the sacrifice level, requesting an email and opening or submitting the adviser form. Financial information is converted into broad bands before an analytics event is sent. Analytics events do not contain your name, email address, exact salary, exact pension figures, free-text responses or saved-results token.
A random identifier connects events during the current page visit. It is held in memory and is not stored in a cookie, local storage or another persistent device identifier. TaxOptions also records the landing page, referring website and campaign tags in the link, when available, so it can compare communication channels. TaxOptions uses these events to improve the calculator, understand demand for adviser matching and monitor whether forms and emails are working.
Emailing your results
If you ask to email your results, TaxOptions sends the email address you provide and the results shown on the page to Postmark so it can deliver the message. TaxOptions also stores the calculator figures in Supabase for up to 45 days so the private link in the email can restore them and open the adviser request form. The link contains a random token, not your financial figures. The email is sent once and the address is not added to a marketing list.
Adviser-match requests
If you ask TaxOptions to look for an adviser, the request can include your first name, email address, age band, pensions, savings and investments band, goal and the calculator figures shown on the page.
TaxOptions uses this information to assess your request and contact you if it identifies a potential match. TaxOptions will not share your information with an adviser without asking you first. A match is not guaranteed.
Feedback
If you share feedback, TaxOptions stores the email address and message you submit for up to 45 days. This information is used to confirm receipt, review your comments, respond if needed and improve the service. Your email address is not added to a marketing list.
